ACADEMICS
Due to snow school closures (two days) in January, our school’s calendar is two days below the required 180 days of instruction for the school year. Mundo Verde submitted a waiver request to the state superintendent (OSSE) and has not received a response yet. In the event of no response or a denial of the waiver, Mundo Verde will implement “situational distance learning days,” per OSSE guidance. Students would receive work packets to take home for June 17 and 18 to determine attendance. Students who do not submit their packets by the June 18 deadline will have an excused absence.
PreK students are excited to share their learning about Buildings and how buildings and communities shape one another over time. All PreK families are invited!
Through the Buildings expedition, PreK students explored the world of architecture and community. Through inquiry-based learning, students investigated the formation of buildings and their intricate relationship with evolving communities over time. From understanding the design and construction of buildings to reflecting on the unique characteristics of their school building, students gained insights into the significance of architecture in shaping our surroundings and fostering a sense of belonging. Through hands-on exploration and thoughtful reflection, students deepened their understanding of the built environment and their place within it.
