Mundo Verde continues committed to leveraging every opportunity the school year brings to create spaces to strengthen a sense of belonging and build community among students, families and staff. Please read the updated Mundo Verde COVID policy in English and Spanish. It reflects over many months of low community spread and low hospitalization rates according to statistics from the DC government, despite a recent uptick.
Get four free at-home COVID tests this fall. Every U.S. household may place an order to receive four free COVID rapid tests delivered directly to your home.
SCHOOL SERVICES
Due on the 10th of Every Month
School services payments allow us to offer quality services. Monthly payments are due by the 10th of each month.
On Monday, Oct. 2, families will receive a billing statement for school services for the month of October 2023 with instructions for how to pay for your snacks, meals, and/or Extended Day Program fees on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

A bike bus will leave from Alethia Tanner Park at 8:00am (you can come earlier for coffee and snacks!) and will pass by Florida Ave. Park to pick up more riders there. Those who want to walk together can also meet at Florida Ave Park to walk as a group. Kids and adults can both bike and walk. Padres Neighborhood Safety Committee Meeting
October 4 at 8:00pm
The first Neighborhood Safety meeting for Committee members will be at 8:00pm on Wednesday, Oct 4. The agenda will include introduction of co-chairs, overview and selection of sub-committees, and setting Padres Neighborhood Safety goals for the 2023-24 school year. Dial in here.
5th Grade Puerto Rico Trip Fundraising Kickoff
October 4 from 4:00-7:00pm
Join the Happy Hour (4:00-7:30pm) on Wednesday, October 4 to kick-off our 5th grade class fundraising for the Puerto Rico trip. Gran Cata, a wine bar/shop specializing in LatAm wines and located at La Cosecha (by Union Market) will donate a percentage of the proceeds and offer 10% off to-go wine sales. This even is Kid-friendly and there will be some art supplies for kids to work on the Puerto Rico 2024 sticker design contest.
