COMMUNICATIONS, INFORMATION & QUESTIONS

NEW! Your Opinion Matters!
Monthly Survey, November 9

To inform important decisions being made by school leaders, Mundo Verde sends a two-question survey to parents and caregivers every month. You will receive an invitation Thursday, November 9 to participate in this month’s survey.

These ‘pulse’ surveys can be answered via the web or a text message, completed in either English or Spanish, and are sent from Possip.

And a big “Thank You” to the hundreds of you who are already participating in the monthly survey!

Dress Code and Student Belongings

Dress Code/Uniforms
All students are expected to attend school dressed in a Mundo Verde t-shirt or sweatshirt as their school uniform everyday.

As a general guidelines, student belongings including clothes should be labeled with the student’s name so it can be returned to the owner in case they get lost.

More information on Dress Code/Uniforms can be found in the Family Handbook in English (page 73) and Spanish (page 79).

Cold Weather Attire
Students should come to school daily prepared with appropriate clothing for outside activities especially because we try to expose students to outdoors even when there is cold weather or precipitation (hat, gloves, warm jacket, boots, layers). Families in need of assistance may contact the front desk.

Thank you for supporting students to follow our school norms.

Have a Concern?

A parent/guardian or caregiver who believes that they or their child have been treated unfairly is encouraged to discuss the situation with the student's classroom teacher in an effort to resolve the issue. A concern may be raised through a conversation during regular school hours, via email (click HERE for staff directory), through ParentSquare via direct messages (instructions HERE), by leaving a message with the front desk/reception, or if a longer conversation is needed through a scheduled meeting.

Teachers do their best to answer questions from parents/caregivers, and in those cases when they do not have the answer, they will direct you to your child’s principal or dean. If the situation warrants an urgent/same day response, please call the front desk to communicate your concern.

To improve clarity, transparency, and overall school responsiveness, we are in the process of updating and re-publishing the Complaint, Grievance and Resolution Process.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Student Care - Sick Students Should Stay Home

In order to maintain a healthy school, parents/caregivers should not send their children to school with any contagious diseases such as the flu, strep throat, chickenpox, measles, conjunctivitis (pink eye), ringworm, or scabies. Students with any of these conditions will be sent home from school until they are no longer contagious. Parents/caregivers must pick up their child within two hours of being notified that their child is sick with a contagious illness.

To read more about Student Care, visit the Family Handbook in English (page 58) and Spanish (page 62).
