Faculty and staff benefit from a collaborative professional learning community that aligns professional development with curriculum development, refinement and implementation; and with development, implementation and analysis of assessments. Strategies to support an overall culture of learning and collaborative decision-making include:
- In-depth training every summer in the form of a two- to four-week institute.
- Planning time for teachers to work together three times a week.
- Weekly structured three-hour professional development and planning blocks, available through the use of early dismissal.
- Focused feedback on areas of strength and growth on curriculum, instruction, assessment, learning climate and family outreach.
